Position Overview

Match delivery slips with purchase orders to ensure that the specifications, quantities and prices on the delivery slips match with those on the purchase orders.

The Role

  1. All items purchased by the hotel should be received to a "Receiving area" unless otherwise instructed. When received goods are returned by the requesting department, the goods should be passed to the receiving office and be inspected by the receiving staff.
  2. Receiving procedures should be performed independently of other departments, with the exception of kitchen staff being present upon receiving fresh food items and technical staff upon receiving machines/equipment delivery.
  3. The receiving staff should check the quality and quantity of the goods delivered. When the goods differ from specifications, or are deficient in quality or weight, appropriate actions must be taken such as: rejection of goods, correction of delivery slip or preparation of a return slip.
  4. Goods without a purchase order should not be accepted. However, when goods are delivered without a proper hotel purchase order, receiving staff should immediately notify the Purchasing Manager and the department concerned. The receiving process should then be formally authorized and acknowledged by the Head of Department who initiated the order and they must take full responsibility of the order.
  5. Receiving staff should prepare a daily receiving report after completing all receiving operations for the day. The "Daily Receiving Report" is based on the delivery slips which are matched with purchase orders and goods received.

Talent Profile

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in similar role in a luxury resort / hotel.
  • Part qualification in a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Business Management, preferably specializing in Supply and Logistic Management.
  • Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) and knowledge in procurement systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team- player and good at cultivating strong guest relations.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent complex problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills & detail oriented.
